ASTM B865 N05500 Alloy, also known as Monel K500, offers exceptional mechanical properties, making it a superior choice compared to Alloy 400. With approximately twice the tensile strength and three times the yield strength of Monel 400, this alloy maintains its strength up to 1200°F (649°C) while remaining ductile and tough even at temperatures as low as -400°F (-240°C). Additionally, Monel K500 retains its non-magnetic properties down to -200°F (-129°C), making it ideal for applications requiring low magnetic permeability.

Alloy K500 performs exceptionally well in low-temperature environments. As the temperature decreases, its tensile strength and yield strength significantly increase, while its ductility and toughness remain largely unaffected. Even at extreme temperatures as low as -200°C, the alloy does not undergo brittle transition, making it highly suitable for a wide range of low-temperature applications.

Compared to Monel 400, Monel K500 excels in mechanical strength, hardness, corrosion resistance, and long-term stability, making it a preferred material for demanding environments.
