machinability
- Hot processing: Inconel 617 alloy has excellent hot processing performance, similar to Inconel 625 alloy. The temperature range for hot processing is 1010-1205 ℃, and slight processing can still be performed at 925 ℃.
- Cold working: Alloys can be cold worked using conventional methods, but intermediate annealing should be performed during the cold working process to ensure optimal performance. Cold rolled sheet can exhibit the best high-temperature performance after solid solution treatment at 1175 ℃.
- Welding performance: Inconel 617 alloy has good welding performance. General welding methods can be used, including gas tungsten arc welding and gas metal arc welding. The use of welding rods with corresponding components during welding can ensure good welding quality, and the bending test shows that the alloy has no cracks when bent at 180 °
