ASTM B167 UNS N06600 Nickel Alloy
ASTM B167 UNS N06600 Nickel Alloy is a nickel-chromium-iron-based alloy strengthened through solid solution, renowned for its excellent resistance to high-temperature corrosion, including acids and alkalis, as well as superior oxidation resistance. It also boasts exceptional cold and hot workability, along with outstanding welding performance. The alloy maintains reliable thermal strength and high plasticity at temperatures below 700°C. Designed for use in environments ranging from low temperatures up to 1093°C, it exhibits exceptional oxidation resistance and carburization stability at extreme temperatures. However, in reducing atmospheres containing hydrogen sulfide, its maximum operating temperature is limited to 535°C.
Description
Product Description
ASTM B167 UNS N06600 Nickel Alloy (Inconel 600) is a high-performance nickel-chromium-iron alloy with exceptional resistance to high temperatures, corrosion, and oxidation. Its versatility and durability make it a preferred material for demanding applications in aerospace, chemical processing, power generation, and other industries. As technology advances, this alloy is expected to play an even greater role in high-temperature and corrosive environments.
ASTM B167 UNS N06600 Nickel Alloy also is a family of austenitic nickel chromium based super alloys. This alloy are oxidation corrion resistance materials well suited for service in extreme environments subjects to pressure and heat. When heated,Inconel forms a rhick, stable, passivating oxide layer protecting the surface from further attack.Inconel retains strength over a wide temperature range, attrative for high temperature applications where aluminum and steel would succumb to creap as a result of thermally induced crystal vacancies.Inconel's high temperature strength is developed by solid solution strengthening or precipitation hardening, depending on the alloy.
ASTM B167 Standard
ASTM B167 specifies the requirements for seamless nickel-chromium-iron alloy (UNS N06600) pipes and tubes. Key aspects of the standard include:
- Dimensions: Covers outer diameter, wall thickness, and length tolerances.
- Mechanical Properties: Specifies tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation requirements.
- Testing: Includes hydrostatic testing, non-destructive testing (NDT), and inspection procedures.
- Marking and Certification: Requirements for material identification and certification.
