It consists of an aluminum foil substrate coated with a conductive carbon layer using a water-based (aqueous) coating system. Carbon coated aluminum foil, also know as Conductive coated aluminum foil refers to the upper and lower two layers of high-purity rolled aluminum foil with a thickness of less than 50μm, uniformly coated with a layer of conductive materials such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, conductive carbon black, conductive graphite and special adhesives Consists of conductive coating composite products.It's used in the positive current collector of lithium ion batteries and bipolar plates of super capacitors (EDLC). Positive Electrode Water based Carbon Coated Aluminum Foil is one of type of this kind of material, we also supply oil based type.
Water-based carbon coated aluminum foil is manufactured by applying a uniform layer of conductive carbon material (such as conductive carbon black, graphite, graphene, or carbon nanotubes) onto the surface of aluminum foil using a water-based slurry system . The coating is typically applied via roll coating, followed by drying at temperatures between 45-95°C

1.Product Structure
The primer layer technology for carbon-coated Al foil appears to address critical challenges in lithium-ion battery (LIB), particularly in improving interfacial contact, reducing stress from active material expansion, and protecting current collectors.

2.Working Method
Primer layer plays a critical role in enhancing the performance of carbon-coated Al foil for lithium-ion battery(LIB).The primer acts as an interfacial bridge between the copper current collector and the anode active material (e.g., graphite, silicon).

Advantages

The application of conductive coating foil can improve the peeling force of the positive electrode sheets of lithium-ion batteries, thereby enhancing the battery cycle life, reducing the battery internal resistance, improving the battery's charging and discharging rate, and enhancing its charging and discharging ability in low-temperature environments. It can also improve the direct pass rate and assembly success rate in the battery production process, thereby significantly reducing the overall cost of battery manufacturing.
The conductive coated Al foil produced by our company can be processed with high-precision coating on the thinnest 6um Al foil, and the coating surface density can be controlled between 0.02g/㎡ and 5g/㎡. That is to say, we can evenly coat a minimum of 0.02g of conductive substance on the surface of 1 square meter of Al foil, with a thickness of only 200nm. The conductive coated aluminum foil is the thinnest that can be processed with advanced coating on 10um hard high-purity aluminum foil, and the coating surface density can be controlled within 0.02g/㎡ and 5g/㎡ In other words, we can uniformly coat at least 20mg of conductive material on the surface of an aluminum foil with a thickness of only 200nm per square meter. We are currently at the forefront of this technology in the world.


The coating speed on aluminum foil can also reach a stable 150m/min, while the industry average speed is only 30-40m/min. At the same time, the alignment accuracy of conductive coated copper foil can still be controlled within ± 0.3mm. In terms of coating pattern design, not only can continuous full width coating be completed, but customized production can also be carried out according to customers' special requirements, which strongly supports the product design and technological progress of downstream battery enterprises. We can theoretically coat aluminum foil with any pattern, and the alignment accuracy of front and back coating can also reach ± 0.3mm, leading the entire industry.
